Wow! Okay, the month completely got away from me. I have been feverishly working on book two of the Elena Shores series and editing the first book like a crazy woman. This past month I also did a couple of Meet and Greets and book signings.

NorthStar Georgetown was absolutely FABULOUS! I got to meet so many new friends and got surprised by a few old ones. I am still absolutely beyond grateful for each and every person that reads my stories and I had many who were trying my books for the first time.

This past weekend I had the opportunity to do a meet and greet at the Le Visage Spa in Norman, Oklahoma. Let me tell you, if you live in that area, I highly recommend the spa. It is absolutely stunning and they have all the spa treatments that you need to renew your spirit.

What I'm Reading

I love this entire series and even though I'm not too far into the story, I'm already loving Linc and Arden and their stories.

UPDATES

WOW! May has been CRAZY! We've weathered a tornado and flooding and we've barely tapped into the usual storm season. But since I haven't been able to get out much to play in the yard, I've been working on my edits of the first book of my new romantic suspense series. It's set at a beachside community and I'm hoping to have it out before the end of summer so you can take it with you to maybe......read it on the beach somewhere. 

I love it when I get an idea for a story and then start to research the elements within it. I always learn something. Then once I have the story completed, the edits come and my editor is amazing so she helps me make my stories the best they can be. And when the cover comes together just right and I know the book is almost ready for publishing, it's just such a rush. And this new series is definitely going to be an escape.

We took a trip to Massachusetts to visit our daughter and her family and OH BOY did we see the sights! I'm only posting a few photos just because you'd be reading this for days if I posted all of them! 

This is the USS Constitution. Did you know that the NAVY was started in Boston? This sailing ship dates back to the 1700s and it is still commissioned with the NAVY! Isn't that COOL!

We Also took a drive to Maine while we were there. Ha! It's only took us an hour. I'm used to Texas where you can drive for eight hours and still be in Texas. This lighthouse is in Portland(there is actually two lighthouses in the photo) and we just happened to go on the day they were remembering those lost in the sinking of Eagle 56 off the coast of Maine by a German U boat during WWII. Only thirteen survived of the 62 on board.

And...I got to see a CASTLE! Who doesn't enjoy taking a tour through a castle. This is Hammond Castle in Gloucester Massachusetts. This place was truly AMAZING. It was build with pieces of other castles and buildings from all over the world. There are artifacts throughout the castle and the guy who built it was considered a mad scientist. Unfortunately we didn't get to go into his laboratory. It was being restored.

And then when we got home...

We woke up to a TORNADO! Seven in the morning, the day after we got home,  the sky got extremely dark and the wind and rain hit. There were no sirens, but I knew it was a tornado. Later tht evening they confirmed is was an EF1.

Life has been a bit chaotic the past few weeks. Chaotic in a good way though. We took a trip to Pennsylvania and I have to share a harrowing experience that left me giggling with a new idea for a rom com. 

We were told about a cute little town named Ligonier that we decided to explore on Sunday. 

Finding a restaurant to eat lunch, we headed that direction and when we went to park we suddenly felt a jolt and realized our right front tire had blown. No problem, we'd just get the spare and change it out. Nope. No spare and the hole in the tire made it to where we couldn't just use the repair kit. No problem. We had the added insurance so we called the rental car agency and they said they'd send a tow truck and take us to get it fixed. Great! Should have known it wouldn't be that easy.

We started to eat lunch and the rental company called saying they were having a hard time finding a tow truck on a Sunday. I have to admit, my cheery attitude was starting to be replaced with a tinge of panic but I held out hope. I mean it wasn't like people didn't need tow trucks on Sundays. They did say they had a tire store lined up for us, but it was 45 minutes away and closed at five. No problem it was barely past twelve. We ate our lunch and waited on the check then another call came. The rental company had abandoned AAA since they still couldn't find a tow and was in search of someone on their own. I began searching for one myself and found a tow truck in Latrobe, the town we were staying in. I also found out that Walmart in Latrobe had a tire department that didn't close until seven, which was good because it was now growing close to two. Then the hubby got a text saying that our case had been closed as complete. Oh no no no. Our case was far from complete. So the hubby called and sat on the phone trying to explain to yet another person from the rental company. He never got the same person twice. They said they closed out the AAA request but they said they had a tow truck coming......from forty-five minutes away. SERIOUSLY? We knew at this point we would never make it to the tire place they had chosen. 

I called Walmart and they confirmed they would be open until seven and then we asked if there was a place we could wait, since it was cold outside. The restaurant staff was fantastic and moved us to a room off the kitchen. 

The tow truck driver arrived and said he was given direction to take us to the tire place 45 minutes away. We told him that it would be closed by the time we got there and gave him the info on Walmart to which he said he would have to get it approved. Another call was made to the rental car place by both men. I stood there not believing what was happening but as I did a story was simmering. I mean, think about it. A stranger in a quaint town with a broken down car, having all kinds of trouble getting help? Please, it literally writes itself. But as I began seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, there was one last twist. See, it even has a TWIST. 

We walked out to get into the wrecker and the guy says  "I only have one seat." Ummm...Okay....I guess I can call an Uber. I bring up the app, and did I mention this was a tiny town up in the hills of Pennsylvania. Yeah, my screen said "Currently Unavailable" So, thank goodness the tow truck guy was approved to take my hubby to Walmart which was only about ten miles away. I continued to sit in our little room and as I did I noticed some napkins and silverware, so I asked if they needed a hand with wrapping the silverware. Might as well put myself to good use while I wait. The hostess just laughed. Walmart got my hubby in and out in no time and he came and picked me up 

and we lived happily ever after!
